Built With Purpose.
Independent by Choice.

Summit was built by a team of experienced Northern Colorado specialists who believe that exceptional medicine and a culture where people thrive are the same priority. Every decision we make starts from one question: what is best for the patient?

What Drives Us

Mission & Vision

Two clear statements that guide who we hire, how we treat patients, and how we work with our community.

Our Mission

Compassionate Care
Without Compromise

We provide uncompromising veterinary specialty care through expert medicine, clear communication, and genuine kindness — creating a compassionate, joyful environment for pets, their families, and the veterinary community.

Our Vision

Redefining Veterinary
Specialty Care

To raise the bar for veterinary specialty care by leading with compassion, transparency, and collaboration — strengthening the profession while improving the lives of pets and the people who love them.

Our Core Values

Five Principles
That Guide Everything We Do.

Exceptional Care

We go above and beyond for every patient, client, and referring veterinarian. Good enough is never good enough.

Kindness

We show up with humanity — especially when it’s hard. Every person who walks through our doors deserves empathy and respect.

Transparency

We communicate clearly, openly, and honestly — so clients, staff, and the referring community can make empowered decisions.

Fun

We believe a joyful workplace makes for better medicine. Laughter and levity are not a distraction — they are part of it.

Community

We invest in the growth of our people — professionally and personally. When the community thrives, our patients do too.

Why Summit

The Principles That Shape Summit

Eight principles that shape every decision we make — from how we hire, to how we treat patients, to how we work with referring veterinarians.

Doctor-Led

Clinical decisions at Summit are made by the doctors practicing here. We answer to our patients, their families, and the referring veterinarians who trust us with their cases. That structure shapes everything — how we hire, how we schedule, how we invest, and how we measure success.

No Walk-In Emergency Department — By Design

Focused Entirely on Specialty Medicine

Every resource at Summit — every technician, every exam room, every piece of equipment — is dedicated entirely to specialty medicine. We accept urgent transfers directly from primary care veterinarians, and we will do everything we can to accommodate them based on staffing and capacity.

Direct Access. Every Time.

A Real Person, Every Call

When you call Summit, a real person answers — someone who works in this building, knows our team, and can get you to the right place immediately. It’s how we want every interaction with Summit to begin.

Criticalist as Hospitalist

A Specialist Who Is Here. Entirely.

Our board-certified criticalist does one thing: she oversees every hospitalized patient at Summit. Her expertise is dedicated entirely to inpatient care — from admission to discharge.

Transparent Pricing

No Surprises. No Hidden Costs.

Families deserve to understand what care costs before they commit to it. We price our services fairly and communicate that pricing clearly — so families have what they need to make informed decisions about their pet’s care.

Your Client Stays Yours

We Support the Referral Relationship

We exist to strengthen the referring relationship. Every patient is returned to their primary veterinarian with a detailed discharge summary within 24 hours, and stays with you for ongoing care. We are your specialist team.

10+ Years Experience Each

Established Specialists.

Every specialist at Summit brought more than a decade of practice experience to this hospital. These are established clinicians who chose to be here — and who plan to stay.

Focused Specialties. Done Exceptionally.

Fewer Services. Each Done Better.

Summit focuses on a deliberately select range of specialties — so we can hire the best doctors, build the deepest support teams, and deliver care we are genuinely proud of. Fewer services, each done exceptionally well.
