Education & Training
Dr. Liran Tzipory, DVM, DACVIM (Neurology), is a board-certified veterinary neurologist with extensive experience in both academic and private specialty practice. He earned his veterinary degree from Szent István University’s Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Budapest, Hungary, in 2003. Originally from Israel, Dr. Tzipory relocated to the United States in 2005 to pursue advanced training, completing a small animal rotating internship at the University of Florida in 2006. He went on to complete a residency in Neurology and Neurosurgery at the University of California, Davis, in 2009.
Specialty Expertise
Following his residency, Dr. Tzipory served as an Assistant Professor of Neurology and Neurosurgery at Colorado State University. He later continued his clinical career in private practice, including time at VCA South Shore Animal Hospital in Massachusetts from 2012 to 2015. In 2015, he founded Veterinary Neurology of Northern Colorado, which he expanded in 2018 into a full emergency and specialty hospital, Boulder Road Veterinary Specialists, in Lafayette, Colorado. After several successful years, he transitioned the practice to BluePearl, where he remained on staff before stepping away to focus on his growing family.
Philosophy of Care
“Always practice 10/10! In a field of complex signals, let your clearest signals be 10/10 dedication and compassion. We measure success by the lives we should change, not just the procedures we can perform.”
As a specialist in veterinary neurology, Dr. Tzipory’s practice is founded upon a commitment to the highest standards of clinical excellence across both medical and surgical cases. He believes advanced medicine must be balanced with ethical discernment; his approach is governed not merely by what is technically possible, but by what is fundamentally right for a patient’s long-term quality of life. This standard is paired with a deep sense of compassion and unwavering dedication to the families who entrust Dr. Tzipory with their care. Recognizing that neurological disease can be a frightening experience for pet owners, Dr. Tzipory prioritizes clear, empathetic communication at every step of the journey. By integrating cutting-edge diagnostics with a patient-first philosophy, he strives to provide the expert guidance and transformative outcomes every case deserves.
