Education & Training
Dr. Megan Tzipory, DVM, DACVECC, has spent more than a decade providing emergency and critical care services to the Northern Colorado community. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science/Veterinary Science from the University of California, Davis in 2005, and went on to receive her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree with honors from Colorado State University in 2012.
Specialty Expertise
Her passion for emergency medicine began early, with over 10 years of experience working as an emergency and ICU veterinary technician. She pursued advanced training through a small animal rotating internship at a specialty hospital in Boston, followed by a residency in Emergency and Critical Care at Ocean State Veterinary Specialists in Rhode Island. She achieved board certification in 2016.
After completing her specialty training, Dr. Tzipory returned to Colorado, where she provided emergency and critical care support along the Front Range at Aspen Meadow Veterinary Specialists from 2016 to 2018. In 2018, she co-founded Boulder Road Veterinary Specialty Hospital with her husband, Dr. Liran Tzipory, where she led and managed the 24/7 Emergency and Critical Care department.

Dr. Tzipory’s medical philosophy is deeply rooted in her extensive expertise, as well as her genuine compassion and dedication to her patients. Having your pet away from home can be stressful and frightening, and Dr. Tzipory understands that fully. You can expect compassionate, open communication, complete honesty, and thoughtful guidance every step of the way. Her primary focus is providing exceptional care for your pet while doing everything possible to support their comfort and well-being throughout their recovery.
Her professional interests include high-risk anesthesia, respiratory disease, mechanical ventilation, sepsis, and pain management.
Why Summit
Dr. Tzipory remains deeply committed to advancing the veterinary field through consultations, continuing education, and hands-on training for veterinary professionals. She is excited to launch Summit Veterinary Specialty Center, where she will continue supporting both her team and the referring veterinary community.
Outside the Hospital
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband, their four children, and their fur-kids, taking full advantage of all that Colorado has to offer.
